Build the future of community learning with us.
The Leadership Undercommons is a Black-led, abolitionist communiversity — a living community of study, collective learning, and world-building.
At TLU, we don't sell classes. We build futures.
Your membership is an investment in Black freedom, dignity, and collective care.
How membership works
Choose a Membership level.
At The Leadership Undercommons, your membership is more than enrollment — it's a commitment to Black futures, collective learning, and radical care.
Each membership level honors a legendary organizer who shaped liberation through study and community.
Choose the tier that matches your capacity, your dreams, and your bond to building a freer world.
Receive learning bonds.
When you join, you’ll receive Learning Bonds — flexible credits you can use to enroll in courses, workshops, and gatherings across the year.
Learning Bonds are our sacred currency of liberation — a living investment in yourself, your community, and the futures we are building together.
Choose your courses
Every quarter, TLU offers a carefully curated set of courses, workshops, and intensives. With your Learning Bonds, you choose the offerings that nourish your study, deepen your practice, and stretch your imagination. Move through learning on your terms — rooted in dignity, collective care, and Black radical traditions.
Build community.
Membership at TLU is not just about taking classes — it’s about joining a living, breathing communiversity. Here, we study together, build together, dream together, and dismantle together.
Inside private spaces, at quarterly gatherings, and through shared visioning, you are part of a community where word is bond, and liberation is a collective act.
LEarning bonds?
Learning Bonds are flexible credits that you use to enroll in TLU offerings.
½ Bond = single workshop
1 Bond = 2-session mini-course
2 Bonds = full 4-session course

Members can purchase additional Bonds if they run out — but Learning Bonds are only available to members.
