Celebrate Kwanzaa with a gentle, accessible virtual yoga practice grounded in the spirit of the Nguzo Saba. This class centers reflection, intention, and collective care, affirming that Black wellness is Black aliveness.
Each session begins with grounding and breath, offering space to arrive fully in your body and in community. The practice emphasizes choice, presence, and ease rather than performance and is welcoming to all levels.
Participants are encouraged to use what they have at home, including books, pillows, blankets, towels, chairs, or a wall as supportive props. You are welcome to bring a meaningful item such as a candle, cloth, or plant to support intention or rest.
Video participation is always optional. Come as you are and move in ways that feel supportive and true.

In honor of the history, resilience, and brilliance of Milwaukee’s Northside Black communities, Northside Yoga is a community-centered wellness studio sponsored by The Leadership Undercommons. Grounded in embodied liberation, collective care, and cultural memory, Northside Yoga offers virtual and in-person pop-up yoga and wellness experiences rooted in a clear truth: Black wellness is Black aliveness.
Whether joining us online or gathering in community pop-ups across the Northside and greater Milwaukee, Northside Yoga is both a sanctuary and a practice. We affirm that tending to our bodies is not separate from liberation work. It is part of it. Here, wellness is not an escape from reality, but a reclamation of vitality, dignity, and presence.
