Children’s Yoga Teacher Training
This Children’s Yoga Teacher Training is designed for currently certified yoga teachers with an active or previously active certification. A foundational understanding of yoga poses and teaching ethics is required.
Join certified teacher and yoga instructor Lisa Kramer for a Children’s Yoga Teacher Training designed for teaching children ages 3–12. This engaging four-week training takes place on Thursdays in March (5, 12, 19, 26*) from 5:30–8:30 PM and offers practical, developmentally appropriate tools for supporting children’s physical, emotional, and social well-being through yoga. (On the 26th, there is a special virtual session to complete the program!)
Participants will learn how to design fun, inclusive, and non-competitive yoga experiences that strengthen growing bodies while fostering confidence, focus, self-regulation, and teamwork. The training is ideal for yoga teachers, educators, caregivers, and anyone who enjoys working with children and has a basic understanding of yoga poses. A regular personal yoga practice is recommended.
The training will cover:
The benefits of yoga for children
Using children’s literature to enhance yoga experiences
Yoga poses for individuals, partners, and groups
Games and props for playful, engaging classes
Strategies to build trust, teamwork, confidence, and inner strength
Techniques to support calmness, focus, and self-control
Using music and themes in children’s yoga
Creating safe, nurturing, and non-competitive environments
Developing and delivering a complete children’s yoga class
Location: The Table, 5305 W. North Avenue
Cost: $300
Continuing Education: This 10-hour training may be applied toward Yoga Alliance continuing education hours.
This training is a collaboration between Northside Yoga, a fiscally sponsored project of The Leadership Undercommons, and Sunny Side Up Yoga.
